Bonnie K Hunter is passionate about quilting, focusing mainly on scrap quilts with the simple feeling of “making do”.
She has been featured in magazines both for her quilt patterns and articles she has written on scrap management and using that stash to its full potential and has published 7 books on scrap quilting through C&T publishing. She has also self-published many digital patterns available through her extensive website, putting them instantly into the hands of quilters worldwide.
Dedicated to continuing the traditions of quilting, Bonnie enjoys meeting with quilters and challenging them to break the rules, think outside the box, and find what brings them joy.
When not traveling, she spends her time designing piecing scrap quilts, while enjoying her wild and wooded Blue Ridge Mountain surroundings in beautiful rural Mouth of Wilson, Virginia.
Bonnie retired from the quilt teaching & lecture circuit in 2020 after the opening of her dream come true – Quiltville Inn, a big old 1884 Victorian house turned retreat center also in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. She and her husband Dave are the proud parents of two grown sons, Jason, and Jeffrey.
They round out their household with two dogs, Zoey Jo & Mabel Mae along with two cats: Ivy Lea, who loves life at their log cabin home on 42 acres of mountainside and studio cat Lola who keeps Bonnie company while she designs, quilts and plays happily with her fabric in the old post office building turned studio right next door to the Quiltville Inn retreat center.
Bonnie’s favorite motto? “The Best Things in Life are Quilted!!” of course!
